Plot Summary

The party leaves a note for Bebo where they were keeping Bontan’s cousin captive threatening to kill him if he comes back and that they’ll be somewhere near the plateau if he wants to come challenge them. Morra and Bontan also come up with a name for their group: The Avengineers. They all then make it back to Avi Nihar’s stronghold and finally sleep, having been worn down to almost nothing by a very trying day.

In the morning, the party makes it back to the Semolo Plateau, but do not actually cross the bridge because there is a guard contingency on this side. The guards explain that they’re to take the party into custody for killing the mayor. Snak objects heavily to this and the guards realize they don’t have to bring him in, instead focusing on Morr, Bontan, and Dande. It turns out Bebo has testified that they killed the mayor since he went into the mayor’s house and saw him dead after they left. The party gets annoyed by this, particularly Dande because Bebo has already framed him once.

The party decides to go to a location nearby the plateau where Dande once saw some ferns growing that are supposed to only grow on the plateau itself. On the way they run into a huge monster encounter with the wildlife of Chult, and defeat it without losing anyone but they end up using up a lot of the resources for their abilities. Once they arrive at the location, they find a very surprised Bebo tending to a garden of semolo ferns.
