Brad Kirkland

Bradley Charles Albert Kirkland III was born, fully formed, from the Great Deku Tree in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. Since that day, the month of October is celebrated in fifteen countries worldwide as "Rocktoberfest" or, "Der Rocktoberfest del Brad." It is a time when families come together and give thanks for his sexy, sexy existence, play laser tag and scoot about in bumper cars or go karts.

He grew up attending schools for the gifted and started university at the age of 16, moving to Prince George at 17 to attend UNBC. Brad met Kathleen De Vere when he became a cartoonist and contributor at the UNBC student newspaper, and generally mocked the terrible grammar and linguistic errors that came with the articles that would arrive in stacks, daily, from the women's center. This was where he got his first bit of acting in, playing Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

After a year in the cold, unforgiving northlands, he moved south again to finish his degree (English, Summa Cum Laude) at Simon Fraser University with a thesis in the history of the fool figure in medieval French and English literature and drama the 14th century through to Shakespeare and the history of maps as they have been used in literature and drama. This, as one might expect, made him sought after by employers from all industries. Towards the end of his degree, he worked on a pilot episode of a program called "Weapons Masters" to be pitched to the Discovery Channel. It featured him as a student of the martial arts and martial historian paired up with another student of the martial arts who would give a materials science perspective to the creation and usage of various martial weapons. It was not picked up. In its stead they ran a show about building motorcycles.

After trying on several careers (business consultant, teacher, international media syndication p.r man, a few others) he has finally settled into a cozy office with an assistant who brings him coffee. He auditioned for the role of caretaker of an Australian reef island, but was turned down in favour of another applicant from Hampshire, England.

...

By finally settled... he of course means the opposite of that. In September of 2009, he left a partnership in a right-prestigious businessy office to return to his freeter ways. In 2009/10 he will be working on a masters in Medieval History at the University of York in Britain. While he intends to return to LRR and contribute in any way he can from abroad, he said his adieu in a T-Shirt Ad at the introduction of the video Small Pox
