AskLRR Answers
Q: Name your favorite book and your reason why other people should read it.
A:
Name your favorite is very hard, we have lots of things we kinda like in specific topics. We will answer our favorite book that we have read recently.
Graham: I haven't read an actual novel in a while, but I'm a big fan of Terry Pratchett, I really like "Small Gods" I convinced my grade twelve English teacher to let me do my book report on it. The most recent one of his I've read that I thought was really, really good was "Night Watch", just because that was a really great book. In terms of not a novel I read the Lonely Planet Guide on Micronations and it was hilarious. It's an actual Lonely Planet Guide like a tour guide, written like every other Lonely Planet Guide, put in the humor section because it's written on the self proclaimed "Kingdom of Steve" you know like some guy takes his field and says "I'm a nation...". Also "Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman, read that book.
Matt: A book from my childhood I've always had a fondness for was "The Phantom Tollbooth".
Bill(Spoiler Warning): I read a WWII book that's written from the German point of view, but you don't know till way later on "All Quiet on the Western Front". I also read "The Da Vinci Code" which I expected to be like "Harry Potter" you know kinda entertaining but you know, but I actually found it to be well researched and enjoyable and well written. While the research isn't conclusive all and the BOOK IS FICTION (Theres a slight debate about the the validity of Nosticism and the Bible), don't like go to all these famous religious places and go "Ohh I see now". I really liked "Snow Crash" by Neal Stephenson (which Graham thinks would make a good movie) which is very visual because it was intended as a graphic novel. I also tried to get through "Art of War" by Sun Tzu and liked "The Myth of The Good Corporate Citizen" [by Murray Dobbin], it's about how all the big corporations work and it's written by a Canadian from a Canadian perspective. It talks about how they make their money and what they do to externalize their costs and how this effects the country they live in, the difference between transnational corporations and non-transnational corporations. So if you want to know how business works and how business really works, read the book.
Paul: I recommend basically everything written by Neal Stephenson except "The Baroque Cycle" which is just too big and too slow and too wordy. The book I read recently that I really like is "Rainbows End" by Vernor Vinge that's set like 50 years in the future and really made me think more than any other book like, "Wow this is what our future will be like". It seems like it's 50 years ahead of Star Trek instead of 50 years ahead of where we are now, in that it isn't basically just like now but with better computers and robots instead of slaves..... or something.
Jer: For books that I've read recently that I liked I've read "Smoke and Mirrors" by Neil Gaiman which is a collection of his short stories. I like it because he's trying a bunch of different things over a long period of time, even when he was writing for "Playboy" and if you don't like something he tries it's gone in a couple of pages anyways. I love the book "Morality Play" by Barry Unsworth, if you're interested in Medieval Times or anything like that it's a good murder mystery story set in the Dark Ages that involves a lot of theatre. I'm excited this semester because I will be taking the second class during University that requires me to read "Dracula" so I'm looking forward to reading that for the fourth or fifth time.
Q: What are your favorite seasonings? (Reminder: Please keep the forum posts to questions only)
A:
Graham: Salt? Matt: Vanilla Paul: Oregano Jer: Garlic Bill: Nutmeg (because it can kill you)
Q: Is Three PS3s the sleeper How to Talk like a Pirate?
A:
Not really, but if by that you mean that it's a very popular video, then yes. It's been linked by a bunch of places, many of which believe that we're serious. It's funny there's been a lot of people who've said hurtful things about Paul in a bunch of online forums, there was even someone today who joined the discussion thread to bash the video without realizing that we're a comedy site. We need to pull a Jay and Silent Bob on these people.
Q: Why is Morgan so popular? Why doesn't the rest of the cast get any love?
A:
Because you keep paying attention to him. It's your fault. If you ignore him, he'll go away. One of the reasons is that Morgan has a lot more time in his day to devote to talking to you guys. He will add a lot of people from the forums to his msn because he has less to do at his job and is more approachable on msn.
Q: What are your favorite movies?
A:
Children of Men (awesome), Borat?
Q: The suits you wear in your videos are really nice. Can I borrow one?
A:
No dark_realm, you live in Australia, so sorry.
Q: Who's living with whom, when did that start, and who were you living with before?
A:
Graham lives with Bill and Morgan, everyone else lives with themselves and other people. James lives with his girlfriend and Adam and Ben. Graham was living at home before this, Matt is still living at home, Bill was living with Ash... Bill's lived with a lot of people over the years and everywhere he lives tends to get nicknamed "Bill's Place".
Q: How long have Graham and Kathleen been together?
A:
Over two years now.
Q: How did you guys discover Random Acts?
A:
They talked to us, actually when the site was still very small Paul went to the Yahoo directory for Sketch Comedy and sent emails to all of the sites he could, and they are the only ones who responded. I feel bad that Token White People isn't up on the site right now, I [Paul] was going to put them up but then I hurt my hand, and I have various other excuses, but it will be up soon.
Q: Have any of you ever considered living in the US or the UK, basically somewhere that isn't Canada?
A:
The basic sentiment is that people like the UK and the US and wouldn't mind moving there for a bit or visiting there but like Victoria more. Matt will probably either be kicked out of Canada by the other Canadians or leave to be a Press Rep. for Microsoft in the US so he can acquire his vast fortune.
Q: Who has traveled outside of Canada and where?
A:
Graham has been to the UK lots and all down the Western Seaboard of the US down to California and over to like Washington. Paul has been all the way down the states over to LA, Las Vegas and Texas, Bill has been throughout the United States, Jer has been to France and traveled throughout Paris and the south of France, he also had a one hour layaway in Copenhagen and Matt has been all over North America and spent two weeks in China in grade seven.
Q: Does Morgan add anyone who isn't a hot girl on the LRR Myspace?
A:
He did add Lavos, but he did search everything he could think of and add all the hot girls he could find. The search went Victoria, then Canada, and then porn stars.
Q: Who has had the most relationships out of all the cast?
A:
Jer
Q: Who would win: Sam Fisher or Solid Snake?
A:
Solid Snake, that isn't even a question.
Q: Street Fighter or King of Fighters?
A: Street Fighter
Q: Will we ever see anything from Andy anymore?
A:
Yes
Q: Samus or Master Chief?
A:
Samus
Q: Would you rather go on a date or play video games?
A:

Q: Who is the biggest ass out of all the crew members?
A:
Bill he's the fattest. Oh who is, not who has.... still Bill.
Q: Have you ever had a random person yell at you about LRR?
A:
Yes, Matt and Jer have a great story about that from McDonald's (Not explained)
Q: What would Paul look like without his beard?
A:
Buy the After Hours DVD, he actually has another face on his chin.
Q: Who all do you use in Smash (Brothers)?
A:
Graham: Bowser (really well) Matt: In the old one Kirby then he got fucked over, now Young Link and Pichu. Jer: In the old one Yoshi, now Kid Link. Bill: In the old one Captain Falcon and then they fucked him over so I switched to Gannon and I'm also a good Roy. Paul: Never played Melee, Kirby or Jigglypuff.
Q: Has Graham ever played DotA?
A:
Apparently he is later tonight.
Q: Have any of you ever taken martial arts or something?
A:
Graham: No Matt: Taken something with Jer Paul: Yellow Belt in Tae Kwan Do, 4 lessons of Karate Bill: A self defense course and some Moi Toi with Andy (Not the Andy from the videos)
Q: Do you guys ever look back at some of the videos and think what the hell were we thinking?
A:
Kinda but this is just a weird thing we do, we don't give it much thought.
Q: How much do you all weigh?
Graham: No idea Paul: 125 last time I checked Bill: 220/230 something like that Matt: Don't want to know Jer: 150 pounds
Q: Do you guys have any siblings?
A:
Bill: Older sister Jer: Younger sister (she's taken, Lavos, fuck off) Graham: Younger sister (same warning) Paul: Older brother (same warning) Morgan: Step-brother James: Sister, but she's married to Morgan's dismay Matt: None of the above
Q: Sims 2 or The Movies?
A:
Sims 2
Q: If you guys never met each other, besides Graham and Paul, is there a possibility the site would still be up?
A:
If it was just Graham and Paul it would have still been made because they set it up, but it might not still be up and it would have just been the two of them in large mustaches yelling at each other in foreign languages. The site wouldn't be what it is without all the help.
Q: What is the game reviewing website?
A:
It's on the way, I hear there's one out there called IGN?
Q: What do you guys think of the LRRWiki?
A:
It's awesome, Melendwyr and Lord Chrusher, as well as a bunch of other people, have done a great job.
Q: Favorite Beverage
A:
