Synopsis
Kathleen's zeal for mono black becomes even more pronounced as the Born of the Gods prerelease approaches. Despite the fact that the new expansion opens up the possibility of playing two colors, she begins to attempt to convert other members of the crew to her cause out of sheer appreciation for black. Her efforts are largely fruitless, except in the case of Alex, whom she incentivizes with an entire pie and a threat to go public with a previous incident where Alex graffitied one of James' most prized cards with cheeto dust. The Oracle of Theros is confused by her actions, but his attempts to convey his confusion to Kathleen are lost on her, as she is so smitten with her chosen color.
At the prerelease, to the consternation of Kathleen, Cameron once again choses to play green in an attempt to fight fire with fire. His attempts are slightly more successful, as he goes one and four instead of losing entirely. Alex is successful with mono black, going four and one, but Kathleen doesn't open enough cards in her box to properly pull it off and ends up three and two, though she consoles herself by claiming she has won a moral victory.
