Today
Lots of great news came out of Nintendo Direct, but this one piece has us kind of baffled.
Stories
- At last weeks Nintendo Direct, they showed off the breadth and depth of Final Fantasy titles coming to the Switch; for some games this being their first time on a Nintendo console. Final Fantasy VI, IX, the X and X-II HD remasters, XII and the XV Pocket Edition are all going to be available and not just on the Switch, on Xbox One as well. One glaring omission is Final Fantasy VIII, which you can't even get on PS4. Square hasn't, or won't, respond to inquiries about it. Note the Final Fantasy VII is the port, not the remake.
- In further Nintendo news, we finally have some idea about what the companies long gestating paid subscription service, Nintendo Switch Online, will actually offer. In addition to the long requested cloud save feature, a mobile app for voice chat and access to library of 20 classic NES games (and Balloon Fight), the biggest selling point for Nintendo Switch Online is online multiplayer functionality for games like Mario Cart 8, Splatoon 2, and ARMS. When it launches on September 18, online multiplayer for these games will be moving behind the paywall. However some of Nintendo's most popular first party titles won't support could save data backup, due to their fear some people will abuse the system to game the online multiplayer rankings. In addition if you allow your service to lapse, all cloud saves you have will be deleted, you won't be able to play any of the classic NES games that come with the service and the separate app will presumably stop working.
- Also during the Nintendo Direct, hidden in the middle of the announcement of Super Smash Bros U for Switch, was a new character of Peachette. When Toadette puts on a crown or eats a mushroom with a crown on it, she becomes Peachette: A character who is not Peach, but looks exactly like Peach.
- According to Divorce Online, Fortnite has been sited in more than 200 divorce proceedings in the UK this year.
Coming Up
Good news for fans of scantily clad anime girls and corporate promises. Negligee Love Story, the 100% uncensored visual novel, is now available on Steam! Unless you live in China, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Egypt, South Africa, Russia, Iceland, or one of the other 18 countries where that sort of shit is banned. Or Germany, where Steam hasn't worked out how to ask you if your old enough to see anime titty yet.
